Music4children.org

presents

After Music4children.org's unique concert experiences in The Himalaya playing in Monestries, Stadium concerts and gigs around Kathmandu we are taking our next experience to the Amazon.

This adventure is a step up the extreme music ladder. The trek has been custom built for the purpose of this fundraising effort, playing gigs at a number of indigenous villages that have rarely seen people from the outside world. World musicians will meet in Lima and play a number of tunes from established artists and pod cast the jams through the jungle. The final concert will be fed over the internet to the world with the proceeds going to buy virgin Amazonian rainforest to preserve for future generations. We hope to raise enough money to instal sustainable power in remote areas so community centres, schools and orphanges can run with fewer overheads.

For a full length preview go to the Itinerary page where pictures and words will give you an idea of whats to be expected. The map will give you an idea of the places mentioned.

In the year 1560 the Spanish embarked upon the largest expedition ever mounted

in Peru: the quest for El Dorado, the Lost City of Gold. The conquistadors chose

this route from Chachapoyas to lead them across ancient Inca trails from the

mountains down to the Amazon River tributary, the Huallaga River.

Perhaps a dozen outsiders have sense taken this passage, a challenging route

made famous in Stephan Minta’s book, Aguirre, and Klaus Kinski’s movie, Aguirre

The Wrath of God. This will be our route!!!!!!

(required movie for everyone to see!)
